Breath spray will not hurt your teeth or gums if it is sugarless.
Sugarless gum is another good breath freshener and if it contains xylitol, helps prevent tooth decay.
Gum disease or tooth decay can cause a bad taste in your mouth and bad breath. Be sure your teeth and gums are healthy. You don't want to just cover up a symptom like bad breath if you could cure it.
Don't forget to brush your tongue, it harbors bacteria that can cause bad breath. Drinking plenty of water is another way to keep your mouth fresh.
Sinus problems, stomach or digestive problems and other health issues can cause bad breath or make it worse. Consult your physician if you think you may have any of these conditions. They may require additional treatment.
One easy way to improve your breath is to drink more water. Most of us don't get the recommended 8 glasses a day.
Drinking a glass of water instantly makes your mouth feel fresher and cleaner. Drink a quick eight ounce glass of water every two hours if possible. Water that is room temperature is easier to drink quickly than ice cold water.
Here is an article that I wrote about bad breath. It provides information about the causes of bad breath plus some advise on how to improve bad breath and a review of products including mouthwash for bad breath.
