Dental bridge too small
by Ann
(Waterford, Mich)
My new bridge is too small and has to now be removed, how do they remove it without pounding on your teeth?
will cutting it off be a better option? and will that work ?
he tried to pound it off with hammer, which didn't remove it, now I have a headache, any suggestions?
thanks much for your help, also is there any compensation I should get or at least a discount off the $3000.00 I already paid? just wondering
thanks again...
reply by Shelly ~ adminHi Ann, I'm sorry your bridge is too small.
I'm not an expert on bridges but...If it has to be remade anyway then yes cutting it off would seem like a better choice.
But, your dentist must have a reason for not wanting to cut it off so that would be a good question to ask him or her.
Regarding the money, it depends on your dentist's policy. Most dentists would want you to be happy with your new bridge and not charge you again. Some may charge you only for the lab fee which would be much less than your original cost.
No one ever anticipates treatment going wrong and so those questions are almost never asked before. They are not fun discussions to have with your dentist but probably a good idea especially for expensive treatment...
Good Luck:)
