Can having teeth removed cause ear problems?

I recently had the remainder of my bottom teeth pulled (10 of them)and now my left ear keeps stopping up. Would the pulling of my eyetooth on that side be the cause of this?

I already had my top teeth pulled. I went to a local free dental clinic to get my bottom teeth pulled.

The pulling of my eye tooth gave me a little more trouble than the rest. Since then, my left ear has continued to stop up from time to time. I bought Murine ear was removal and have used it quite a few times. Should I go to the doctor about this?

Hi Becky,

I'm sorry about the loss of your teeth.

I don't know if having your teeth removed caused your ear problems. But it is possible that your jaw joint may have been stressed during the removal of your teeth.

Your jaw joint or temporomandibular joint aka TMJ is very close to your inner ear and can cause ear problems when it is not functioning properly.

If it doesn't improve you should see your doctor.

Thanks Shelly, that helps answer my question. I may go to the doctor next week and get him to check me. I appreciate it!
