Biotene Toothpaste

When you brush with the Biotene toothpaste, are you supposed to rinse and spit it out or brush and leave it in, no rinsing?

I know with the mouthwash it says to just spit it out after swishing it around in your mouth.

Hi Claudia,
That's a good question.

Follow the instructions on the package. If the package instructions don't specify, it's safe to assume rinsing with water after you brush is ok.

Many mouthwashes work best if you don't rinse with water for at least a half hour after. Fluoride rinse and chlorhexidine rinse are two that come to mind.

You might get the best results from brushing with Biotene toothpaste followed by swishing with biotene mouthwash.

Here is an article about Biotene products and how they work.

Gum disease, please help.
by: Kristen

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me.
My boyfriend has gum disease, we are currently trying to find the right biotene product to get rid of it. He wants the mouth wash but we can only one for dry mouth, is this what we are looking for?

Thank you.

Hi Kristen, Biotene products are made for dry mouth.

My favorite mouthwash for gum disease is Listerine. Here is why I like Listerine.

His hygienist can help him with product recommendations and advice to cure gum disease.

Good Luck,
~Shelly~
